PAX recently received an email from a beautiful girl….about a beautiful boy.
Ms. Lindsay hails from Brookfield Central High School, where Paxton’s Momma is a teacher. Now a student at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, Lindsay recently participated in the Relay for Life. Although Lindsay has moved on from her roots at Brookfield Central, and is well-immersed in a new chapter in her life – Paxton’s spirit remains a steadfast presence in her heart. Lindsay explained that going into the Relay for Life, she knew she would be doing so in honor of Paxton – a little boy whom she never even met.
While each Relay For Life event is special to its community, the movement’s true power lies in the combined commitment of thousands of participants to help save lives from cancer. At the conclusion of every Relay For Life event, a Luminaria Ceremony takes place. As the sun sets, luminaria lining the track light up the night. A hush falls over the crowd that had been overflowing with celebration. Relay For Life participants, survivors, and caregivers gather to remember loved ones lost to cancer and to honor those whose fight continues.
Below is the bag Lindsay created for the Luminaira Ceremony she attended. As she stated, “…my luminary bag was just one small way I was able to honor our special, little fighter.”
Thank you for remembering our Peaceful Warrior, Lindsay. May Paxton’s life spark continue to glow inside your heart for always.
Pax.Love.Always.
