I completely realize that some folks will get tired of the many posts I’ll share about PaxFest that you’ll see in your Facebook feed. The truth of it all is this: I believe that we can make a difference in saving more kids from cancer
In our first year of existence, the work of the Paxton Andrews Foundation has already helped kids and their families during the most frightening time of their lives.
We raised over 15,000.00 for cancer research in our first year of PaxFest, and $22,000.00 for The MACC Fund by our awesome Team Paxton running team in the Brewer’s Half Marathon the very same day.
We have paid rent when a family could not due to medical bills and lost wages.
We have provided Christmas gifts for children for the same reason.
We have provided everyday needs that The HOT unit was missing, something only a parent who has lived in the unit would notice.
We’ve provided a truck load of art supplies and educational toys to the HOT unit.
In a dire and desperate moment, we received a call on a Friday evening from the father of a beautiful three year old baby, because there was no room on his son’s medivac transport from San Diego to Milwaukee. He was going to be stuck across the country until the following afternoon while his son was living the last days of his life. We arranged last minute flights. A board member left at 2:00am for O’Hare Airport in Chicago to pick up the parent and rush him to Children’s Hospital. He beat the transport by an hour or so.
Ssmarty Cakes in Kenosha helped us bring birthday parties to the HOT unit.
People around the country held fundraisers for our foundation because they heard about Paxton’s fight.
We listened to kids talk about the angel who looks over them during surgery. They call him Paxton.
In one year, a sweet baby boy inspired us to accomplish things that make a real difference. This year we will make an even bigger impact in the fight against cancer. Cancer is a thief and a murderer. We will not standby and and let that happen without a fight. The fight of these kids is our fight too, and we’re bringing our A-game at every turn. Paxton lived a short life, but he lived a powerful life. He will forever be loved.
You have a chance to join us. We will sing, dance, and celebrate these brave and beautiful kids, those here with us, and our angels standing by. We’ll shine a light that no one can miss.
So, you’ll see a lot of posts about the upcoming music festival in my feed, and can’t apologize for that. If you would, please share my posts with all of your friends. The more people we reach, the more kids we’ll help.
These are just some of the reasons we put on this concert. We want to see your shining faces there! It will be a day of hope, music, and laughter!
I’ll eat you up, I love you so.
xoxo
