It was a beautiful day. Milwaukee came together to honor our peaceful warrior, Paxton, and all our little warriors bravely fighting cancer.
To all who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and donated, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The day was full of smiles, laughter, good eats and great music. One of the highlights of the fest was by far the AER EEG Kid Zone and all the special activities we had for the kids. There were carnival games, sno cones, a bounce house, giant slide, balloon sculptures and face painting. Our friends at PNC Bank had a sand art tent for the kids. Little girls got star treatment and fabulous nails. To see the pure joy on those little faces was priceless. They didn’t have a care in the world. Those faces, those smiles are memories I will never forget. That’s what this day was all about – kids. Rather than have me blab on and on about the beautiful day, why don’t you take a look for yourselves.
What’s a festival without some good eats and cold drinks? This year we were once again joined by Maxie’s and Blue’s Egg. Did you have the pulled pork sandwich? OMG. So. Damn. Good. We had cold beer on tap from our friends at Lakefront Brewery (poured by bartenders at Burnhearts) and wine from Ruby Tap… and Milwaukee favorites, Gilles, had a pop up custard stand.
This year we continued fighting pediatric cancer with music. Once again, SlimRoxFu kicked off the fest, followed by 5 Card Studs and Ivy Spokes.
href=”https://facebook.com/RECTIFIERMUSIC”>Rectifier, led by Paxton Andrews Foundation board member, Katie Mack, lit up the stage with their anthemic rock n’ roll. If you missed Rectifier’s “Bourbon and Flowers,” you can download the EP here. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
The alternative rock sounds of Nashville’s own Satellite rounded out the day. The quartet had the crowd on their feet with singles from their latest album, “Say the Words” and “Till I Return.”
Thanks to all of our supporters, PaxFest 2013 was a success! A beautiful day, a tribute to Paxton, and funds raised for the fight against pediatric cancer.
To all who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and donated, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We’ll eat you up, we love you so.

Thanks to the talented James Conway Photography for once again capturing the day in photographs. Your lens captured what we cannot describe with words.
